History looks to the future

The word LAR is evocative and multifaceted, just like the products of our collection.
LAR in fact recalls the Lari, divinities of Etruscan origin who were worshipped by the Romans as protectors of the domestic space.
In various languages, the word has taken on the meaning of home, understood as an environment: a space for sharing with loved ones; an intimate and welcoming place, the place of one’s daily life.

For us, LAR means offering a new interpretation of objects for living spaces, which have become increasingly fluid. We create design elements that are also of use, able to fit naturally into different environments and to meet every need and aesthetic taste.
We support experimentation, innovation, flexibility, and we put at the center of all our production the people who want to live their home spaces. For them, we design and create our proposals, all of which are sustainable and made in Italy.

We design and manufacture products with an essential design, with attention to detail at every stage of the manufacturing process. We choose fine finishes and prefer linear and essential geometries.

We want to offer you innovative objects for your home, which are versatile, with a strong aesthetic value and never conventional.
Our pieces of forniture are conceived with Design for Disassembly in mind and use durable materials that can be easily recycled. Moreover, LAR products that come into contact with food are all FCM certified.

LAR design has sustainability at heart

The attention to sustainability of our proposals is reflected in the choice of
valuable, natural or fully recyclable materials, whose components can be separated at the end of their lives. We carefully select steel, aluminum, glass, ceramics, slate and wood, all of which are remarkably durable.

In addition, instead of using plastics and adhesives, we prefer mechanically interlocking solutions and magnetic connections. Our packaging is also made entirely of cardboard, so that it can be disposed of without harming the environment.

A workshop of people

For us, quality means refined design, accurate choice of materials and care for the territory and for the people who work there.. For this reason, we entrust our production to professional artisans; our aim is to produce objects that are completely made in Italy, authentic and original, created thanks to deep expertise and professionalism, which we aim to promote.

In the LAR workshop ideas are realized by people: we combine professionalism and personal skills, we share the values of sustainability and ethics, to design and produce eclectic, different, unique objects.
The workmanship performed by LAR is largely manual. The handicraft gives our pieces of forniture unique characteristics, since it is precisely the differentiating elements that enhance the value of our products and make them extraordinary and unique.
